this month — June 2026: Oak Cliff Apartment Explosion Relief
This month, a share of our resale revenue goes to neighbors displaced by the Oak Cliff apartment explosion — families right here in our community who lost their homes and belongings. Every donation dropped off and every purchase made helps us send a little more their way.
— Why it matters
Every purchase helps
Shopping and donating at Cliffhanger isn't just a good deal — it keeps useful things moving and sends a little back to the neighborhood every month.
- Affordable goods stay in circulation
- Donations avoid landfills
- Local causes receive 10% of revenue
— Why we opened
About Cliffhanger
Cliffhanger started with a simple idea: good things shouldn't end up in a landfill when they could help someone else. We're a small Oak Cliff business built around affordable secondhand shopping, community giving, and making sure everyone feels welcome. Every donation gets another chance, every purchase helps keep useful goods in circulation, and each month 10% of revenue supports a local cause.
"Reuse is the simplest sustainability there is."
Every piece that finds a second home keeps something out of the landfill and out of someone else's "I had to buy that new" budget.
And the name? Oak Cliff is the neighborhood. The other half is honest: we sell coat hangers' worth of stuff — clothes, housewares, the kind of finds you didn't know you needed. The pun is the address.
— Need help?
Need a hand?
Neighbors in crisis — fire, displacement, hardship — are welcome to reach out. Tell us what's going on and we'll do what we can from the inventory on our floor.

Where your goods go
Cliffhanger isn't a 501(c)(3) — we're a small for-profit community shop. So instead of giving you a tax receipt, we promise something simpler: 10% of the revenue from goods you donate rotates each month to a named local cause. The current beneficiary is named in the band at the top of this page.
This month's beneficiary is Oak Cliff Apartment Explosion Relief.
